2011 Alberta Umpire

On May 28, 2011 Miss Merritt conducted the CTFI umpire certification for Alberta for Class B and C from 12:00pm-5:00pm at Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do.  This was an excellent opportunity for students and instructors to learn more about umpiring as well it was a great opportunity for athletes to get to know the rules! You need to know the game to play the game!  In the seminar we covered everything from patterns, sparring, pre-arranged sparring, power breaking, and specialty breaking.  Students also had an opportunity to test there skills in a ring with hands on experience and take a written examination.  Excellent work Mrs. Merritt, Mrs. Owens, Miss Travaglia, and Mr. Peters you all will make amazing umpires!
