2010: Nationals: Richmond, BC
On November 12-13, 2010 Miss Merritt and Mr. Vincent attended the National Championship in Richmond, B.C. Competitors from all over Canada went to compete at a chance to make Team Canada. The selected athletes will be competing at the World Championships in Wellington New Zealand in March 2011! The tournament was in an amazing facility and very well run thanks to Triumph Taekwon-Do and all there students, volunteers and umpires. Miss Merritt also attended a 2 day training course for training umpires with selected representatives from each province. This was a great opportunity to improve our skills and learn how we can improve our provinces umpires. A special thanks to Mr. Ottesen who conducted this great seminar.
Results:
Mr. Vincent did amazing he came home with two GOLD medals!!! His patterns were spot on and he was on his A game for his sparring! Congratulations Mr. Vincent.
Miss Merritt came home with 3 GOLD medals and a Silver! Miss Merritt was also selected for team Canada for her 5th consecutive Worlds. She will also be competing individually in Sparring, Power Breaking, and Specialty Breaking. In order to qualify individually for Worlds as an adult you must be a black belt and win Gold in your division.
2010 International Instructors Course: Regina Saskatchewan
On June 25-27, 2010, Miss Merritt, Cole Peters and Mrs. Merritt attended the IIC held in Regina. This seminar was an excellent opportunity for Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do to stay up to date with the latest changes in the patterns as well as learn new training methods.
2010 Can-Ams: Oakville, Ontario
On June 5, 2010, Miss Merritt, Mr. Peters and Mrs. Merritt attended the Can-Am Championships! Miss Merritt and Mr. Peters came home with Gold in sparring!!! Miss Merritt received a silver in 4th degree patterns as well.
2010 Westerns: Regina, Saskatchewan
On April 2-3, 2010, Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do went Westerns and did great!

2010 Provincials: Grande Prairie, Alberta
On May 8, 2010, Miss Merritt and Mr. Peters Attended the Provincial championships in Grande Prairie.
2009 World Championships: Mar del Plata, Argentina
Miss Merritt Attended the World Championships in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Miss Merritt competed as an individual in Power breaking, Specialty breaking, and Sparring. She also competed with team Canada in sparring, and specialty breaking. Miss Merritt lost her sparring match against Joanna Paprocka, multiple World Champion, who ended up winning gold. Miss Merritt came home with a silver medal in individual specialty breaking. It came down to a tie breaker for gold against Russia.
2009: Grand Master Tran Seminar: Prince George, BC
On August 21-23, 2009 Miss Merritt and Mrs. Merritt had the opportunity to go to Prince George and attend an amazing seminar hosted by Mr. Ottesen and Freedom Taekwon-Do. This was a very unique seminar, not like any other seminar that we have attended before. The ITF President, Grand Master Tran Trieu Quan, 9th Degree, discussed the various aspects of Taekwon-Do and further explained the “Do” in Taekwon-Do.

2009 Can-Am Championships: Trois Rivieres, Quebec
Miss Merritt attended the Can-Am Championships on March 21, 2009.
2009 Western Championships: Calgary, Alberta
On March 11, 2009 Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do attended the Western Canadian Championships in Calgary Alberta hosted by Lightning Family Martial Arts. Congratulations to all of our students who attended.
2009 XIII ITF New York, Caribbean Championships
Miss Merritt attended the Caribbean Championships in New York on September 27, 2009. Miss Merritt had the opportunity to fight Poland’s multiple World Champion Joanna Paprocka.
2008 Invitational Friendship Tournament
On May 24, 2008 Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do attended an invitational Friendship Tournament, hosted by Mr. Sanford & Indomitable Spirit Taekwon-Do. It was an excellent family orientated event. It gave students an opportunity to compete, meet new friends, and have fun. We would like to congratulate all of our students on a job well done.

4th Can-Am Taekwon-do Tournament 2008
Congratulations Miss Merritt on making Team Canada!!!! On Saturday Miss Merritt competed at the Can-Am Championship, winning silver in 4th Dan Patterns and Bronze in Sparring. On Sunday she competed for selections on Team Canada for the World Championships in Argentina 2009! In order to qualify for try outs, competitors had to be invited at the Western Canadian Championships 2008. To earn a position on team Canada each athlete had to spar one another in a round robin. The top athletes were selected, based on ability and wins. There were a lot of skilled athletes that worked extremely hard to earn a spot on Team Canada! Congratulations to all the athletes that made Team Canada!
CTFI Western Canadian Championships 2008
On Saturday March 22nd, Merritts Ultimate Taekwon-Do attended Westerns in Kamloops, British Columbia. This event was particularly special; it marks the first time that we had a student enter into an event. We may not have gone in quantity but we had quality results! We took home 4 Gold's and a Silver Medal!!! Cory Braconnier kicked his way to a GOLD medal in sparring. Congratulations Cory!!! We would also like to Congratulate Miss Merritt on achieving 3 Gold Medals and a Silver! Miss Merritt was also invited to try out for Team Canada in April in Trois Rivieres, Quebec. Good luck!
